PoSH External Member Empanelment

An external member is a neutral third party who serves on an organization’s Internal Committee (IC) to ensure impartiality and fair handling of complaints. The PoSH Act and Rules outline guidelines for nominating an external member.

The law states that the external member should have experience handling issues affecting working women, and could be a PoSH lawyer or someone from an NGO that works for women. It’s also important to find an external member who understands the organization’s work culture, industry, and is an expert in handling sexual harassment cases.
